Sally is based in Auckland. She has over 25 years of performance experience working as an actor in New Zealand’s prominent theatres and screen industry. She has narrated for Radio New Zealand and works as a professional voice-over artist.

She has been teaching voice for 20 years and has studied voice in France, London and New Zealand.

Sally teaches one-to-one sessions in her Auckland studio as well as group workshops. Her teaching focuses on singing or voice/speech, or she can take a blended approach.

She’s taught for Auckland University, Auckland Unitec, The Actor’s Program (TAP), Mixit (migrant youth program), community choirs, world choirs and private students.

Sally has a diverse artistic career that involves writing and recording music, creating original theatre works, and working as an actor in New Zealand’s tv and film industry.

Sally trained at Toi Whakaari ( Dip. Professional Drama / Acting, 1993-95). She studied Roy Hart voice and singing with Pantheatre Company (France), SLS training, semi-classical Indian singing, music theory (Auckland University), and voice and acting with the Royal National Theatre Studio (London).

Sally works closely with Roy Hart voice philosophy, which embraces the entire spectrum of human sound and engages the physical body. Her teaching also incorporates the vocal pedagogies of Kristin Linklater, Patsy Rodenburg, Cicely Berry, Seth Riggs and Jo Estill.

She’s passionate about helping people find an embodied voice that is authentic, well-grounded, and technically healthy.
